SUMMARY

This research deals with the Oscillation of the dates of precipitation in Syria. At first the study focused on the spatial contrast of precipitation, the general trend of yearly and seasonal precipitation and its period. Then the following points have been studied; The first date of the first precipitation and the following one, the general trend of the quadratic trend equation of the date, and the study of this periodical by using the spectral analysis. The last date of precipitation, the amount of this precipitation, the period between the last precipitation and the preceded one, the general trend of the quadratic trend equation of the date and the study of this periodical were studied by using the spectral analysis. The study has also included; The period of the actual and the supposed and the theoretical seasonal precipitation, the correlation of the period of the seasonal precipitation with the amounts of the seasonal and the annual precipitation and its beginning as well as its end, the periodical of the duration of the seasonal precipitation by using the spectral analysis. Then a comparison has been made among; the first date of precipitation, the last date of precipitation, and the length of the actual seasonal precipitation. Then interpretation has been given for such periodicals. A study has been made for the reasons of the location differences in the date of seasonal precipitation and the meteorological, astronomical reasons, the role of pollution and the dust veil index DVI.

It is clear that the first date of precipitation in Syria is between the second half of September and the first half of October while the date of last precipitation in Syria is between the first of May till the second third and the period of the supposed seasonal precipitation is between (6 - 8) while the period of actual seasonal precipitation is between (5- 7) month.

The general trend of the quadratic trend equation has showed at most studied stations during the research that there is a delay in the date of the first precipitation and an early date of the last precipitation at the beginning of the s and it has pointed to a general trend of an early date of the first precipitation and a delay of the last precipitation of the current decade at the most studied stations.

It has been clear when the period of the actual seasonal precipitation increases , the actual beginning comes earlier, the actual end comes late and the total annual precipitation becomes greater.

It is clear that the dates of annual precipitation ( the first precipitation, the period of the actual seasonal precipitation and the last precipitation) have a periodical estimated as a short periodical (2-5) years, that equals the role of Mediterranean oscillation index (MOI) and a medium role (8-12) years, that equals the role of sun spots, a long periodical (23-25) years, that equals the role of North Atlantic Oscillation Index (NAOI).

It is also clear that the dates of precipitation in Syria are affected by the latitude and by the distance from the Mediterranean; the direction of north-west in Syria, the first date of precipitation comes early, as the last date of precipitation comes late, so the length of the seasonal precipitation becomes greater and as we go towards south and the east and the eastern south, the seasonal precipitation becomes more oscillated at the beginning and at the end as well.

It is clear that the influence of the altitude over the surface of sea, opening terrain and the temperature is not great on the date of precipitation while the influence of humidity is clear on such dates only at the internal stations.

The research has referred to the influence of the earth's magnetic and the earth's gravity, to attract the clouds and depressions and their movements above the areas of the strongest of the earth's magnetic field or above the areas of the strongest of the earth's gravity and make them to cause rain above certain areas.

It is clear that the influence of the Depressions on the dates of the beginning of precipitation are; frontal raining climatic depressions which are formed above the Basin of the Mediterranean, the depression of the Red Sea, and frontal climatic depressions which are formed out of the Mediterranean, as the influence of the depressions on the dates of the last precipitation are: The khamasin frontal depressions at first; then the depression of the red sea, and frontal depressions which are formed out of the Mediterranean.

This research has showed that the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO), Mediterranean oscillation (MO), El Niño and La Niña have given no interpretations for the dates of precipitation in Syria and the Oscillation of sunspots, the Oscillation of the quantity of the Dust Volcanic (DVI) in the atmosphere, and the percentage of Carbon dioxide CO have also given no interpretations for the dates of precipitation in Syria.
