Abstract
The industrial areas are considered a modern pattern of industrial settlement patterns in industrially developed countries as well as developing countries in order to organize the spatial organization of industrial activity. In the settlement of these industries, studying the structure of these industries, analyzing them and reviewing the most important problems they suffer from. The regional approach was adopted in selecting the study area and the historical approach, and based on a number of criteria used in the geography of the industry, including the number of establishments, the number of employees and the invested capital.
The study showed that Jamila area was identified as an industrial area within the master plans for the design of the city of Baghdad, and the beginning of industrial activity and its settlement in it dates back to (1961), and the study showed that there are a group of factors that helped to settle industrial activity in the region, as the study revealed and after presenting the structure of the activity The number of industrial establishments in the region for the year 2021 indicated that the number of industrial establishments amounted to (80) industrial establishments, all of which belong to the private sector. Jamila Industrial City Through the application of statistical methods, including the industrial site, it became clear that there are four highly endemic industrial branches, represented by the food industries, the packaging industry, the paper industries, the plastics industry, The study also revealed that there are (424) industrial facilities suspended from work, and it was found through the study that there is a large commercial overlap in the industrial area and negatively affects it, and the industrial activity in the region suffers from many problems and the most influential of these problems was the lack of government support and the difficulty of marketing And the lack of energy sources, and the study concluded with a set of proposed solutions to these problems, in addition to the conclusions and recommendations of the study.
