تناول البحث دراسة الخصائص الجغرافية للأبطراف الحضرية ودورها في نمو وتوسع مدينة الرمادي لعام 2020 إذ تعد الأطراف الحضرية الريفية في مدينة الرمادي هي من أهم الظواهر التي تأخذ المدينة بالنمو والتوسع نحو أطرافها فهي تشهد نمواً حضرياً غير مسبوق وتحول جذري في مظهره الحضري فقد أدت حركة التعمير السريعة إلى إصابة الأطراف الريفية إلى تمدد المساحات المبنية والتحامها بالمدينة . لذا فان الهدف من دراسة الأطراف الحضرية في مدينة الرمادي هو تحسين نوعية الحياة الحضرية من خلال وضع إستراتيجية تعمل على معالجة المشكلات التي تعاني منها الأطراف وكذلك لابد من تنظيم وتوزيع استعمالات الأرض فيها وتحليل الوضع القائم من حيث المشاكل وآفاق التطور والعلاقات القائمة بين المدينة والريف وأثرها الكبير في نشوء وتطور تلك الأطراف الحضرية وتفعيل جميع استعمالات الأرض كما وتهدف إلى تحليل مناطق النشاطات المختلفة ومعرفة حجم التغيرات التي تطرأ على التجاوزات على التصميم الأساس للمدينة, فضلاً عن تحديد أهم المشاكل التي يمكن أن تشهدها المدينة وكذلك دراسة الآفاق المستقبلية لتلك الأطراف الحضرية التي تمثلت في اتجاهات المدينة.
اعتمدت الباحثة في دراسة الأطراف الحضرية على المنهج الوصفي والمنهج الاستنتاجي فضلاً أسلوب التحليل الكمي في تحليل البيانات التي تم جمعها من خلال الدراسة الميدانية ، إذ تم اعداد استمارة استبيان لذلك الغرض، كما تم استخدام المرئيات التي تبين نمو وتوسع المدينة في أطرافها الحضرية والتي جاء أكثر توسع ونمو تشهده المدينة في الاتجاه الشمال الغربي والجنوب الشرقي وكذلك في الاتجاه الجنوب الغربي الذي يعد من أفضل الاتجاهات المناسبة لتوسع المدينة لكونها مناطق صحراوية تابعة لوزارة المالية ولدائرة البلدية ولا توجد عليه حقوق تصرفيه من قبل السكان.

Abstract
The study about the geographical characteristics of the urban peripheries and their role in the growth and expansion of Ramadi city for the year 2020. The rural outskirts were affected by the expansion of the built-up areas and their fusion in the city. Therefore, the objective of the importance of the urban peripheries in the city of Ramadi is to improve the quality of urban life with the development of a strategy that works to address the phenomenon of the peripheries. It is also necessary to analyze the reality of the city and the distribution of land uses in it, and to analyze the existing situation in terms of problems and prospects for development and the existing relations between the city and the countryside and its great impact on the emergence of And the development of these urban parties and the activation of all uses of the land. It also aims to analyze the areas of different activities and know the size of the changes that occur in the abuses of the basic design of the city, as well as identifying the most important problems that the city may witness, as well as studying the future prospects for those urban parties that were represented in the trends of the city.
The researcher followed in a study on both the descriptive approach, the conclusion, the quantitative analysis method, the inductive method, the historical and statistical method, as well as the field study method in collecting and analyzing data and information. The direction is northwest and southeast, as well as in the southwest direction, which is one of the directions suitable for the expansion of the city, as it is a desert area affiliated with the Ministry of Finance and the Municipality Department, and there are no disposal rights over it by the people.
