Abstract: 

   This study aims a identifying the influence of the spread of the unplanned settlement Construction on the regional and urbanized planning programs in the Al Jabal Al-Akhdar Region which is distinctive from the remaining regions in the country in terms of the distinct natural environment. This study consists of an Introduction, preface, and seven Chapters followed by an Epilogue which explains, analyze and discuss the most important results of the spread of the civilized construction in those regions.

  The student used the Geographic information systems (GIS) to analyze this feature, relying on many methods for data collection such as the field and theoretical study together with relying on many of the research methodologies and the statistical methods whose nature match with a certain pattern from the research information.

  This analysis showed a widespread proliferation in the un-planned settlments construction which resulted in several problems which affected the regional and urban plans which prepared for developing the region. This proliferation is due to social, economical and political reasons which contributed in the wide spread of the un-planned settlements construction taking the form of various patterns which violates the standards and shapes of the urban design of the planned settlement construction in terms of the external and internal settlements structure which are characterized of their un-organized construction which was an obstruction to the civilized planning programs. There is part of the settlements constructions which left behind it the nature of the tribal ownership of the lands which were one of the obstacles towards implementing the regional developments plans especially the agricultural and touristic development projects which are considered as the most important economical activities in the study area.

  The study showed many results such as most of the un-planned construction is from the modern construction and which increases continuously where it become an obstacle to the cities plans; and which distorted the shapes of it's plans and affected the sustainable environmental programs enjoyed by the region where it resulted in the depletion of it's natural resources. Based on these results, the student gave recommendations and proposals for these problems covered by this research. This is in addition to preparing a Geographical Database which contain a sufficient amount of information about the construction outside the urban areas where it contain the results of the analysis of the information and the maps of the un-planned settlements complexes which can be one of the contributions in solving the problem. These were based on subjective scientific basis, which makes it applicable for the planners in the fields of the urban and regional planning in the future.
